Money Moments-Case Study

If you want to make money from your purpose, gifts or message, then here’s a question for you:

How much time are you spending each week to design ways in which your purpose, gifts or message can make you money?

Yes, it’s that simple. I’m not saying that it’s that easy. But it’s not as complicated as you are making it in your mind, either.

There are many steps from the point of your desire or creation to the point of your manifestation.

But any journey must start with a first step.

If you don’t give that first step, you are sure NOT to get to your destination.

In my own prosperity journey, I have read, observed and interviewed many female experts who are making money from their art, talents, books or purpose-based businesses. Here’s one advice that many of them give. I learned it from Katherine Gage in her book Power Up for Profits (click to read my review.)

It’s amazing to me how often people complain that they are not making money from their art, talent or life purpose, but they don’t take time to think about how this can happen.

If you are not asking yourself how to do it, then you are probably suffering from a hidden, deep-seated belief that it is not possible. If it were possible, you’d be finding a way to do it. The reason you are not looking is because you don’t think you can find it.

When I began to set aside my “Money Moments,”  I began to get amazingly simply, doable ideas on how to make money from the products, creations and services I already have, without having to do anything else, without complications.

Here are some of the ideas I got:

• Sell my stories in my blog. Create a category and sell them. I offer them now as my Sacred Story Transmissions.
• While I’m at it, why not sell my poetry and ARTchemy projects too? So I added this.
• Don’t wait until the books are ready. Sell the stories as I create them, and I am already generating money before the entire story book is ready. I’m writing the story books as a series, and you can purchase each story for only $5.

Case study

This is the result of last week’s Money Moment, so it’s still a work-in-progress.

PROBLEM

I thought about how to address my greatest frustration: I  write poetry too fast because I do it in a state of grace, so I generate poems and poetry collections in matter of days, weeks or months. As a result, I have too many poetry collections gathering dust, waiting to be formatted into books; but this takes time and money. Either I have to do it, and I’m too busy and do not want to use my time formatting a book; or I have to pay serious bucks to format each book. And once formatted, a printed book takes time and money to print. I have to set aside about $1,000 bucks for the printer to print orders, just for starters. As a result, my poems are not being published.

I used my Money Moments to come up with a strategy to address this problem.
SOLUTION

I created digital Poetry Transmissions that allow me to gather poetry collections into Poetry Magazines, like a serialized digital book, and sell that collection digitally instead of waiting until the book is formatted and can be printed. I love designing digital magazines. I do them quickly  and I can publish them without investing money upfront. This  allows me to leap from creation to delivery fast and generate the money for those collections I want to publish as printed books later.
