In The Ring of Power J.R. Tolkien has Bilbo saying:
“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
Our Ego wants to believe that we know what will happen next. It needs to be in control. So we make plans, fill out the calendar, say “See you soon,” to our friends when we part and schedule things even 3 and 5 years in advance.
We are deluded.
Living is stepping into mystery. Life is a matrix constantly evolving from the dark threads of the Sacred Mystery.
If you are facing risk right now, know that this is the very fabric of life and that we give each step into The Unknown. Do not shy away from taking risks. The only compass that can tell you if this risk is worth it is your Sacred Heart; your Soul. Listen to your BodySoul.
If you are struggling because you are doing something new, something that you really want to do, but scares the bejesus out of you; know this.
Close the eyes of your ego, for it is deluded into thinking that it controls every next step.
Close the mouth of the Ego that bullies you into the familiar or the standard.
In this silence, listen to your soul, your Sacred Heart, your BodySoul. This is your core. Follow the guidance and you will find the road.
