She looked up at me intensely, her eyes wide open. It was as if a part of her that had been sleeping, hiding from prying eyes, had woke up.

“That’s what I want to do, but with my voice, through singing,” she said.

But the collective conversation picked up and shifted, and I was not able to tell her as much as I’d want.

No matter how much I could have told her, however, a conversation would not have been enough. Neither will an article, but it will help.

How do you take your gift to the next level?

How do you take your talent ~whether singing, painting, storytelling, arts & crafts, hand-reading or energy healing~ and use it to:

• Deliver your life purpose or message
• Advance the transformation you want in the world or in your people, or
• Combine it with your cause or another gift or skill that may seem unrelated.

Step 1:  Be Crystal Clear

You need to be clear of each part in the equation you want to create. In my case, these parts would be:

• Storytelling

• Personal Growth

• Dream building

• Women’s issues and empowerment

• Creativity and the creative genius

• Art as alchemy

In my new friend’s case, it could be something like:

• Song and voice

• Personal Growth

• Becoming one’s dream or Dream Building

Understanding each part means that you know how each part:

• Is part of your life purpose or mission,

• Makes you ecstatic and you love to do it,
• How you do it in your unique style,

• Helps others in the end result you seek (becoming their dream and changing their story), and

• How you’ve managed to use YOUR gift to achieve that transformation for yourself (your personal story and uniqueness)

• How you have used it or could use it to help others achieve that transformation (your expertise and proof)

Becoming clear includes three parts:

• Mental clarity

• Emotional Clarity

• Spiritual Clarity
