Ukraine, We, the US People are with you!

I am ashamed for our country on how Trump and Vance bullied President Zelenskyy. That was not a diplomacy meeting. That was a pre-ordained pro-Russia posture to humiliate and threaten President Zelenskyy, a man who should be respected for being a hero of Ukraine’s national defense as well as Europe’s security.

When you take Trump’s and JD Vance’s chest stomping and theatrics out, what happened in that meeting?

Trump has shifted the USA from being an ally of democracy in the world stage to being an ally of fascism; this at a moment when the two forces are vying for power in the world.

So the bottom line here is: where do we stand in the world scenario? If we want to be a democracy and have our allies watch our back as we do theirs, then it’s clear that we need to support Ukraine and fire Trump.

If we want to be a fascist country and have Russia, China and North Korea as buddies, then that’s when you agree with Trump.

Since I believe in democracy and do not want white supremacy and fascism or autocracy to spread through the world, my alliances are with Ukraine– a country that is not only fighting for itself against a dictator that invaded it; but is also holding the forte against further invasions into other European countries from Russia. Because Putin is like Napoleon. He won’t stop.

The rest of democratic Europe agrees and that is the conversation happening right now in the world.

If you are with me, then we need to raise our voices in order to let Europe and Ukraine know that NO, this is not what we want as a people. This is not what we choose. We will not ally ourselves with Putin. Trump’s choice is not the will of the people of the US. We are a democratic nation and we  stand by our democracy.

Next, we have to DO something. Trump has “paused” support. The families in Ukraine are hurting. So here’s what we can do.

From here you can send a disaster kit to one or more Ukrainian families. You can do a one-time donation or a monthly donation.

• OK, so maybe I can’t give as much as I’d want to in the great scheme of things. But I am sending this to my lists. Let’s say that you and 10 more people give something. Now perhaps we send a few hundred dollars.
