Hear Yourself

If you want to discover what you are secretly creating…

If you want to spot the hidden interferences that are sequestering your conscious choices and sending a Counterfeit Broadcast to The Field that attracts what you DON’T want….

If you want to lay your hands on the gooey places in you that are still attach to the past, to your Comfort Zone, to the lies you were told, and don’t let you move on…

Then hear yourself.

Hear yourself when you are complaining.

Hear yourself when you are blaming.

Hear yourself when you are gossiping.

Hear yourself when you are hungering for something, envying someone who has what you want or feeling so small because you don’t have what you think you should be having.

Hear the words you use with your friends.

Hear the words you tell your boss.

Hear the reasons you tell yourself why you are not trying, why you are failing, why you are not ready or why you don’t have it yet.

Write down all you hear for a month.

Then read it out loud.

Try to use the exact tone of voice you caught yourself using.

Is it a whine? A protest? A constant drone?

Who is speaking? A victim? A helpless, orphaned child? A rebellious adolescent?

Hear the stickiness in it. Hear how it somehow satisfies you, how it casts you in a role that keeps you safe.

Now say it out loud again, the whole shebang, and magnify it.

FEEL IT.

Be willing to own the parts of you that sabotage you, that sing you backwards, that hold you back.

Be willing to accept them with compassion and understand what they believe, fear and hold on to.

Now you can release this story.

Just as you worked with words to discover it, work with words to unravel it and weave a different tapestry.

Work with words that are celebrations, affirmations, arrows of attention.

Speak from the place of the creator, the protagonist, the wise one in you.

Word by word, habit by habit, shift your story to change your life.
