May I be as gentle
with the children
as with a rose bud,
that they may blossom in their own beauty.
May I be as gentle
with my friends
as with a chicken bursting
out of it’s shell,
that in helping,
I don’t crack it before its time
or in fear, I don’t keep it imprisoned,
so that they can find their path to freedom with me.
May I be as gentle
with my enemies
as with an injured bird
that bites and scratches
in its fear
but needs my patient care
so that it heals.
May I be as gentle
with myself
as you, dear Divine Parents
are with me every day.
