Saturday Poem:
The Trees are Smiling
Maria Mar
The trees are smiling
with the resplendent
smile of bright green joy.
They smile because
they have been kissed
by the rain.
They have been caressed
by the sun.
They have been breastfed by Earth
and last night, a full moon romanced them until they tingled.
As I drink their luminous green
I too smile;
I’m been kissed by God’s green lips.
