Do you focus on your lack or on your luck?
You’ve heard the phrase about the glass half-empty or half-full. You’ve probably also heard someone quote Henry Ford’s words: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”
Here’s what this boils down in your daily life:
Lack Measurements
When you measure your value as a human being or your success in life through a constant attention to your lack, to what you have not yet accomplished, to what you do NOT have, to what you are yet to embody; then your glass is definitely half-empty because you will feel that you are less valuable and successful.
This constant depletion eventually erodes your self-value and your sense of accomplishment, leaving only lack as the measure of your life.
In this scenario, you are constantly depleting your belief that you can rise above your circumstances or create your dreams, so you can’t.
Luck Measurements
When you measure your value as a human being or your success in life through a constant attention to your blessings, what you have accomplished, how you’ve grown, how you’ve learned from your mistakes, what you DO have or how you embody your purpose right now, how your presence influences the world right now; then your glass is half-full because you feel that you are increasingly valuable and successful.
This constant acknowledgement and nurturing of your self-value strengthens your sense of accomplishment, giving you a strong feeling of capability. You also feel blessed by life, supported by The Universe and loved by The Divine. This uplifts your energy frequency, attracting better things to your life.
In this scenario, you are constantly nurturing your belief that you can rise above your circumstances and create your dreams, so you can.
If you feel that you don’t have a choice, then you are choosing the glass half-empty.
Want to change it? Flip it!
- Practice 1: Demand your mind to listen to your heart’s wisdom. Your Sacred Heart knows your own value as an expression of The Divine, as a being who is perfect for her purpose. Listen and trust this.
- Practice 2: Discipline yourself into a daily practice of naming your value and luck. Name it by writing it in your diary and then reading it out loud). Name:
- 3 (new) things for which you are grateful today
- one way in which you’ve learned from past mistakes today
- 1 positive influence that your presence has had around you today, and
- 1 achievement or improvement you’ve had this day.
It will be difficult at the beginning. Keep going. It will get easier.
When this practice becomes second-nature, you will have a full glass in your hands.
