Do it the easy way

Life is a flow. Its stream moves through great mysteries, through surprising potential and miraculous synchronicity. But it moves through the easiest path. When there’s a blockage, life changes route and finds an open pathway. Life models the easy path for us. I am not talking about always wanting the easy way or wanting a free ride. I am talking about choosing to make things easy on yourself.

• When facing a possibility, do you create a problem before it happens?
• When facing something unknown, do you expect the worse?

Given two options:

• an easy, graceful, no hardship path and
• effort and struggle;

which do you choose?

We’d think that the easy path is obvious. But many of us, more than I care to think about, choose struggle.

• A good man always chooses dysfunctional, unfaithful, uncaring women to marry.
• A good woman is attracted to abusive macho men who end up hitting her.

But it doesn’t have to be that bad.

• It can be that you complicate your options before you’ve taken them, so that you give up before time.
• It can be that you reject the opportunities to receive and be supported and only accept opportunities where you are the one giving and supportive.
• It can be that you don’t ask for help and end up doing everything alone and with effort.
• It can be that instead of seeking expert advice or training, you try to figure it out by yourself from scratch.
• It can be that you over-complicate strategies, formats and technology, spending more energy, time and money than you need in the solution.
• Perhaps you want to have everything perfect before sharing or launching and end up procrastinating.

How do you make life hard on yourself?

Next time, take a deep breath, release whatever attachment or belief keeps drawing you to struggle, and make it easy on yourself.

Make it delightful. Make it supportive. Make it reciprocal.

Take the road that brings harmony, grace and clarity to your life or work.

Choose the option that makes your heart sing.

Make the choice that truly supports you and feels right to your soul; not the one that feels familiar even though deep inside you know that it won’t have a happy ending.

Make it easy on yourself. You may get to like it.
