I’ve been blessed with many talents and a complex imagination that fires a gazillion ideas per second.
The flip side of this is that I often make things more complicated than they need to be.
In fact, complicating things is one of my most usual ways of sabotaging myself!
- Are you making things harder than they need to be?
- Are you choosing the hard way?
Perhaps you learned that the hard way is the right way, the virtuous way. I know I did!
No one came out and told me:
But they did convey the message in so many ways.
I remember a teacher in a staff meeting at a school where I was a resident poet. His face was red as a lobster as he harangued me:
“I’m here to teach, not to entertain. These are secondary school students, not babies in kindergarten.”
Why was he so angry? Because I made my poetry lessons playful and fun. For him learning was not meant to be fun. Duty and delight were at war in his mind.
We learn that duty is good and delight bad. We learn that what comes easy to us is of less value. We learn that should work hard in order to feel worthy.
I’m here to invite you to unlearn this.
- Do it the easy way.
- Do it the Heart way.
- Do it with delight.
Do it in a state of grace.
It will be easy and perfect!
