Animal Protectors: Our Earthkeepers Kin
After as I watched my neighbor feed the pigeons, I turned on my computer and checked my email. I was invited to do a book review for a moving story of a dog rescuer and a dog she rescued.
The story blurb reminded me of a peer entrepreneur who is an animal lover and rescuer. Kathleen Gage is having a campaign, sharing her up-to-now-well-kept secrets on how to get your Kindle to No. 1 while building your list and doing money on the back-end. WOW! She is even doing a free webinar. Why? —all so she can pay for the new operation on a dog she rescued from its death throes and nurtured back to life.
Why do we love animals so much?
Why are some people compelled to feed, care for and even save animals so passionately?
My Soul answers this thus:
That is our role in this earth. We are the caregivers of the planet. We are here to do three things:
- Evolvers: Grow and evolve to evolve all humanity and the universe.
- Creators: Create and sing the beauty of this earth for the ecstasy of the universe.
- Earthkeepers: Care for the creatures and beings on earth, keeping the balance of life.
How far have most of us strayed from our roles as Evolvers, Creators and Earthkeepers!
Many of us are playing opposite roles:
• Devolvers who hold on to the past, feed our fear and hide from our own growth and evolution, unwilling to do the hard work of transformation,
• Destroyers who judge others, gossip destructively and wage war on people who are different, allowing our fear and hatred to taint our creativity into destructiveness, and
• Earth bandits, ransacking our planet’s resources and decimating all species.
That trend creates urgency in the rest of us, and some of us hear the cries of our Soul and come equipped with a potent counter-balancing passion for one or all of these roles.
I came equipped with a passion as an Evolver and Creator. I love animals, and will actively protect and support them; but not in a physical, intimate relationship. I don’t have pets, for example. (Though I take care of my neighbor Hawk.)
But some of us do. And most of us get inspired by these Animal Protectors and help them because our deepest instinct and Soul purpose as Earthkeepers is awakened by them.
That’s my Soul’s answers.
