2012 is around the corner… only a few days away. This year is the beginning of what the Mayan prophecies of the great Mayan astronomers called the Fifth Sun. The fifth cycle of 5200 years is called Job Ajaw in the Mayan Calendar, or The Fifth Sun. It is the end of a world and the beginning of another.

This is not about apocalypses, fear or doomsday, but about human evolution.

The 2012 Mayan Prophecies

The completion of the 5,125 year Great Cycle of the Ancient Mayan Long Count Calendar is scheduled for the Solstice on December 21, 2012 ~ precisely at 11:11 AM Universal Time. What does this mean for us, living in the 21^st Century?

Carlos Barrios, trained as an Ajq’ij (shaman or priest) in the Maya tradition, tells us that:

Heal your Relationship with Nature

As we enter the Fifth Sun, we are part of a global human transformation process to re-connect with nature’s wisdom. This calls us to break away from our illusion that we are separate from nature and gives us a path to find peace, harmony and spiritual advance for human and planetary evolution.
We have been finding out the hard way that we are not apart from nature. The myth of us being the “conquerors” of nature, shaping it to our profit and convenience, has lead to the massive pollution and global warming that we now face. We are now realizing that we are one with Earth. When we carelessly destroy it, we are destroying ourselves and our children.

2012 is the decisive year where the human collective has the opportunity to heal our relationship with nature. If we make this choice, we will create wellness, Oneness and harmony in our lives as we tune into the Sacredness and healing powers of nature. If we continue our exploitation and separateness from nature, we will destroy earth, and ourselves with it.

When you choose to embrace ecological consciousness, your personal life slow s down, reducing stress and increasing your capacity for pleasure, purpose and meaning.

When you let go of accumulation, waste creation and obsessive activity, you simplify your cluttered existence.

When you let go of rampant consumerism, you begin to focus on what is essential to you as a unique individual and your contribution to our human collective.

You can achieve this by becoming an Earthkeeper. Here are three simple things you can do to that effect.

1. Learn all you can about global warming and the other wounds we’ve created in Earth Mother and create a personal plan to repair this damage in your daily life.
2. Spend at least one hour a week in nature, connecting to the consciousness of tree, water, animals and earth. Connect to Gaea Consciousness and develop gratitude for nature’s healing and renewing gifts.
3. Pass your information to others and join others in collective actions to heal Earth Mother.

Join the New Earth Movement

It is no coincidence that the 99% Occupy Wall Street Movement has aroused just as we enter 2012. The Exclusionary Power Consciousness that brought us to the brink of self-destruction is ending with the beginning of the Fifth Sun. It must end, or else it would lead to our destruction.

The science of consciousness has evolved with the knowledge we have acquired from quantum science and epigenetics and we now have glimpses of the fifth dimension of reality: the dimension of Unity Consciousness.

We now know that evolution is not based on the survival of the fittest, but on cooperation towards the welfare, adaptation and advance of the collective. Nowhere is this clearer than in internet business and marketing, where “competitor” is a word of the past. People who would perceive each other as competitors are learning to collaborate to create prosperity synergy while helping more people in the world.

The redefinition of power in the face of self-destruction has profound repercussions.

Up ‘till now 99% of humanity has been asleep. It has accepted a trance of consumerism and modern slavery. Millions of brilliant, creative humans who could have helped the world evolve were caught up in the trance of working for the “master” –so that they traded their talent for money, working to make a company rich. Their loyalty was not reciprocated and the 21^st Century has seen a massive migration from the employee mentality to entrepreneurial freedom, and to the rising of the spiritual entrepreneur.

The poor, uneducated masses have had revolutions throughout history, but time and time again, they accommodate into a Comfort Zone, accepting their almost non-existent piece of the economy’s pie while the very rich keep getting richer. The last revolutions allowed the working class to accommodate to low or even minimum wages because they had a buffer zone of Unions, a consumerist illusion of progress and some hope of educating their children for social advancement. But even these small tokens of prosperity have been taken away at this moment, with massive unemployment, lack of educational scholarships and the dismantling of the Unions.

From these social evils, the 99% Occupy Wal Street Movement arises, and it is eerily responsive to the Mayan description of the new social movement beginning in 2012.

John Major Jenkins is an independent researcher who devoted decades to decoding the Mayan’s advance knowledge of time. His 2012 Galactic Alignment Theory asserts that the end of the Mayan 13 Baktun Cycle in 2012 highlights the rare 26,000 year alignment between the December solstice sun with the Galactic equator. This process is already underway, not something that is going to explode on December 21, 2012. Jenkins understands that this planetary process reflects the spiritual teachings of the ancient Mayan’s Creation Myths, regarding this changing era.

According to Jenkins, the Mayan saw the Fifth Sun as an era in which the power plays of the individual ego, as well as the collective ego reflected in false, corrupt rulership are defeated. This gives way to a new era of higher wisdom, based in unity-consciousness.

Awaken the Sacred Feminine to Achieve Balance of Power

The Exclusionary Power Consciousness that is at the core of the patriarchal definition of power is devoid of the wisdom from the Sacred Feminine.
